How does KDP royalty work?
Amazon pays ebook royalties under two plans. The 70% plan applies to books priced between $2.99 and $9.99, minus a small delivery fee based on your file size ($0.15 per MB). The 35% planapplies to any price, with no delivery fee — useful for books priced outside the 70% plan's range.
Most fiction and nonfiction books earn more under the 70% plan if priced within its range, even after the delivery fee — which is why most indie authors price between $2.99 and $9.99.
